About this project
The Online Food Ordering System Project in Spring Boot MySQL proliferation of e-commerce and digital technology has revolutionized various aspects of our lives, including the way we dine. With the advent of online food ordering platforms, consumers now have the convenience of browsing menus, placing orders, and enjoying their favorite meals from the comfort of their homes or workplaces. In line with this trend, our project endeavors to develop a robust and efficient Online Food Ordering System.
The purpose of this project is to create a comprehensive online platform that connects restaurants with customers, streamlining the process of food ordering and delivery. By leveraging the power of Spring Boot, Java, and MySQL, we aim to build a scalable and user-friendly system that caters to the needs of both end-users and restaurant owners.
The significance of our Online Food Ordering System lies in its ability to enhance the dining experience for consumers while providing valuable tools for restaurant management. For consumers, the system offers convenience, choice, and accessibility, allowing them to explore diverse menus, place orders effortlessly, and track their deliveries in real-time. For restaurant owners, the system provides a centralized platform for menu management, order processing, and customer engagement, helping them streamline operations, boost sales, and build customer loyalty.

Technology Used in the project
We have developed this project using the below technology
Backend : Spring Boot, Spring MVC, JAVA
Frontend : JSP, HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT
Styling : Bootstrap
Database : Mysql
Server : Embeded Tomcat server
Detailed Project Description
Online Food Ordering System Project in Spring Boot MySQL provides a complete buy-and-sell workflow: browsing products, managing a cart, placing orders and, on the admin side, managing catalogue, stock and orders.
How It Works
1. Users register/login and browse products by category or search.
2. Selected items go to a cart; checkout collects address and payment details and creates an order.
3. Admins manage products, stock, prices, orders and reports from a separate panel.
4. Order status updates are shown to the customer.
Technology Roles
- Java
- JavaScript
- MySQL
- Spring Boot
Implementation Steps
1. Define requirements and draw the ER / class diagram and screen flow.
2. Set up the environment (Java, JavaScript, MySQL) and create the project skeleton.
3. Design the database schema / data model and seed it with sample data.
4. Implement the core modules with validation and role-based access where needed.
5. Build the user interface and connect it to the backend / data layer.
6. Test each module (unit + manual), fix edge cases and secure inputs (SQL injection, XSS, auth).
7. Prepare documentation, screenshots and a demo build.
Key Features
- Product catalogue and search
- Cart and checkout
- Order tracking
- Admin panel
- Reports
Expected Output
On completion the student will have a working storefront with an admin back-office and order history.
Deliverables
- Complete source code with comments
- Database schema / data model and screen flow
- Project report with screenshots and results
- Demonstration-ready build
