About this project
MicroPython String Formatting – 3 Different Ways (ESP32, ESP8266, RPi Pico)
Project Overview
60+ MicroPython Projects, Tutorials and Guides with ESP32 / ESP8266 is an intermediate-level IoT/ESP32 project designed for B.Tech and Diploma students. Discover all our MicroPython Guides for the ESP32 and ESP8266 with easy to follow step-by-step instructions. Each tutorial includes schematics and source code.
Objectives
- Understand the problem statement and define clear functional requirements for the system.
- Select, interface and calibrate the required hardware modules and verify each block individually.
- Design and implement the complete solution using ESP32, ESP8266, Python, MicroPython.
- Test the implementation, document the results, and prepare a working demonstration.
Hardware Components
- ESP32
- ESP8266
Software and Tools
- MicroPython
Technology Stack
ESP32, ESP8266, Python, MicroPython
Working Principle and Implementation
The system is built around ESP32 which acts as the main controller. Input modules and sensors are connected to the controller, the firmware reads and processes the data, and the results are used to drive the outputs, display information or communicate with a connected application or dashboard. Each stage — power supply, wiring, firmware upload and testing — is covered step by step so the project can be reproduced reliably.
Applications
- Academic mini/major project submission for B.Tech and Diploma (IoT/ESP32).
- Base platform that can be extended with additional features for real-world use.
- Hands-on practice with ESP32, ESP8266, Python.
Learning Outcomes
- Practical understanding of ESP32, ESP8266, Python.
- End-to-end project workflow: requirement analysis, design, implementation and testing.
- Documentation and presentation of a complete engineering project.
Project Details
- Domain: IoT/ESP32
- Level: B.Tech and Diploma
- Difficulty: Intermediate
- Estimated Duration: 1-2 weeks
Detailed Project Description
60+ MicroPython Projects, Tutorials and Guides with ESP32 / ESP8266 applies machine learning to a real dataset: it prepares the data, trains and evaluates a model, and exposes the trained model through a simple interface so predictions can be made on new inputs.
How It Works
1. The dataset is collected/loaded, cleaned and explored (missing values, encoding, scaling).
2. Features are engineered and the data split into training and test sets.
3. One or more models are trained and compared using accuracy, precision/recall, F1 or RMSE.
4. The best model is saved and served through a web/GUI form that returns predictions.
Technology Roles
- ESP32
- ESP8266
- Python
- MicroPython
Implementation Steps
1. Collect the dataset (public repository or own data) and understand each attribute.
2. Set up the environment (MicroPython) and load the data into a notebook.
3. Clean the data: handle missing values, outliers, encoding and scaling; visualise distributions.
4. Split into train/validation/test sets and engineer relevant features.
5. Train several candidate models, tune hyper-parameters and compare metrics.
6. Save the best model and wrap it in a simple web/GUI form for live predictions.
7. Document results with plots, confusion matrix / error charts and conclusions.
Key Features
- Data pre-processing pipeline
- Model comparison
- Evaluation metrics and plots
- Prediction interface
Expected Output
On completion the student will have evaluation results (metrics, confusion matrix or error plots) and a working prediction form.
Deliverables
- Notebook / source code with comments
- Cleaned dataset and trained model file
- Evaluation report with metrics and plots
- Prediction interface
